What’s Truly Alive in You?

By November 8, 2024No Comments

When we are experiencing a ‘winter of discontent’, knowing what our priorities are and living from them is key. The calling is to commit and take care of what’s vital. Sometimes that can feel like just going through the motions yet it’s an important anchor, particularly when life as we know it is falling apart. Resourcefulness and keeping life simple are aspects of maturity that we are called to focus on. Yet is that enough?

Aspects coming up later this week, call us to fuller aliveness with the humdrum aspects of keeping body and soul together.

Wise Elder Saturn, in watery sign of endings Pisces for two-and-a-half years, has us focusing overall on endings, what’s dissolving. Yet his retrograde station on Friday, just before the Full Moon in Taurus, indicates time to move on. You’ve been digging deep; what have you unearthed at the bottom of that Pisces ocean? What gems of inner wisdom, new strengths or vision have you discovered?

With Saturn there is a desire to achieve and manifest, to see tangible results from where energy is focused. Yet with the wise elder archetype in Pisces, we’re called to recognise life has its own timing (another Saturn quality), as do our souls. Falling into disappointment, futility, blaming ourselves and others, playing the victim must transmute. Neptune, also in Pisces, strong in its own sign, supports the discovery of compassion, forgiveness, letting go and letting ‘God’, not in a passive way of disengagement but with the active wisdom arising from soul connection. As life seems to disappoint or challenge us at every turn, as motivation disappears though exhaustion, we are mining the depths of soul wisdom that will underpin the next creative cycle.

The energy of Saturn calls you to be the very best version of yourself, to commit to a worthwhile project or way of being, sometimes with what we would call ‘tough love’

Saturn’s long-term alignment with Asteroid Nessus of ancestral trauma is delivering tough love now. We must go beyond the beliefs about self and life we’ve inherited. In Pisces, we may not even be aware of what these are, as their impact is in the subtle energy field. It’s our devotion to a living vision, our surrender and willingness to keep on keeping on, that is needed. With Pisces as sign of endings, it’s often only with hindsight (more available to us June 2025 onwards) that we can recognise what’s shifted. Yet there are pointers to the next instalment, especially now as Saturn changes direction.

Just seven hours after Saturn shifts direction, the Full Moon at 24 Taurus emerges. This also has a flavour of karmic inheritance, with the need for response-able awakening beyond your usual comfort zones.

It’s a time for decisiveness. Immediacy is called for, especially regarding your commitment to living fully with and despite seeming limitations. Reactions reveal what’s needed. It’s a time to give substance to what’s deeply of value. Like that saying ‘Put your money where your mouth is’. This could be via a subtle but substantial insight rather than external action. Yet it involves the recognition of a recommitment needed.

Elias Lonsdale’s Star Destiny symbol for this Full Moon degree is ‘Bees returning to their Hive’. It’s a profound key to the gifts of this time.

In part – ‘Drawn magnetically to the deep centre of life. A divining rod trained by the life forces to discover where the bright nectar is gathered unto the harvest. Immense intuitive gifts to sense what’s here inside and where it can lead if it’s followed faithfully, closely, persistently.’

Also: ‘Preparations ahead of time. Having been shown by the angels what is to be and how to stay focused on what is vital and essential. Primed. The cues trigger subtle memories. We have trod this ground before. Here it is again. Let us pay close attention.’

The gift of being forced by external circumstances to keep turning within can be the discovery of ‘the honey’. In truth, the gift of aliveness is always within us, even though we look for it and sometimes experience it externally. It’s time to recommit to what’s truly alive in you, knowing a harvest is being prepared through your steadfastness. Have you noticed that as the leaves fall here in northern hemisphere autumn, new buds are already there at the end of the branches? Life’s promise of renewal is every-present, even when the night seems darkest.
