The planet of deep-seated & rapid change & awakening, Uranus, moves fully into Gemini at 01.51GDT on Saturday 26 April. For the last seven years (apart from a brief visit to Gemini July to November 2025) Uranus has been in earthy Taurus. Its passage through this fixed sign of stability, security & values since 2019 has been a learning experience in how to live with the fact of change beyond personal control. The demand has been to discover stability in new ways, to create a different foundation for living. Specifically, we have been called to discover ways of staying sane in a world of increasing uncertainty & information overload.
As Uranus moves into Gemini until 2032, the focus shifts from earthy practical aspects of life into the element of air: thoughts, communication, ideas, inspiration, & invention. The spotlight moves onto information, the fields of science & medicine, communication & technology, & geo-political change. We are already aware of the potential of AI to radically transform our lives. Will this be good or bad? Here lies a clue to the transit of Uranus in Gemini.
Gemini is the sign of rationale, research, facts & information, communication & science. The sign of the twins, it is ruled by Mercury, the only deity of the Greek pantheon who could travel through all realms – heavens, earth & underworld – much as your mind can. This means innovation has all these potentials too. Once something is discovered, what comes next is governed by mental perspective & judgment, then intention. The choices are based in the agenda.
Can innovation be used in service to a higher perspective? Is it to be used for profit or in service to the greater good? Is it for division & exclusion? Is it for the 1% or to benefit mankind?
Only time will tell with this one. And your perspective contributes to this shift. Uranus is supported by other planets with an innovation focus also. For the first time in decades, the outer planets (collective focus) are vibrating in complimentary ways rather than at odds. It’s like the board members of a multinational connecting to and acting on an uplifted responsibility. The resonance is towards innovation. It may not seem so if you subscribe to mainstream information, but nothing is as it seems. The world seems darker as a contrast to the light that we know in ourselves – like a torch shining into a dark room. We must play our part in this uplift as individuals by being awake to what we focus on.
You’re probably aware by now that even the densest form of life is a vibrational reality. Physics is proving this beyond doubt, even that our thoughts and intentions now can change the past. The mind is an instrument of frequency. Information or a communication, reality as you experience it, can be coloured black, white or any colour you like through the mind, can’t it? The frequency you choose then becomes your reality.
With Uranus in Gemini this is an enhanced gift and potentially, a curse. For manifestation will become much faster, instant even. This quote from James Allen (originated in the bible) “As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains.” You’ve probably become more aware of this over a lifetime as Uranus vibrates his way through your birth chart. The necessity to let go of entrenched beliefs and habits has been particularly strong in the last seven years. Now we enter a new universal field. We have been prepared.
The sign of Gemini is in part about differentiation & categorization: this from that, this fits here and so on. Hence its association with learning & education, research & science. But differentiation & categorization have limited application to life.
For instance, how healthy or supportive is it to categorize people. For statistics, it’s useful; otherwise, it simply creates division: human from human. The shadow of Gemini can be about projection & separation in terms of good/bad, light/dark. ‘It’s that one/that group who’s to blame.’ Gemini is symbolised by the twins after all, so there must always be two. This gives rise also to the challenges of duality of the mind and its choices, the potentials of the Gemini shadow: indecisiveness, scatteredness & distraction.
With Uranus in Gemini, the challenge of duality is not only strengthened; it becomes multiplicity. A multiplicity of frequency. Air, the element of Gemini, is about freedom of movement. With an air planet in an air sign, freedom of movement becomes complexity. You may think, as I do, that the world has become complex enough. The key then is to become simple. Simple as in ‘stay true’.
What does this mean personally? Overall, it’s time to enlighten your perspectives, to uplift your thinking processes and ways of communicating.
Not in some wishy-washy sense of ‘all is one’ but in awareness of how you use your mind and what its habits are. It’s a time of deepening understanding of the power of your mind field and how you use it to create ‘reality’. Awakening communications and relationships to new frequencies, beyond black/white thinking, to the power of embracing difference by going beyond it. For astrologically speaking, Gemini’s twin is the spirit-twin. A twin that suggests taking the enlightened perspective is key to this new phase.
