New & Full Moons, Mercury retrograde & Venus Star points are some of the more personal change points in the larger evolutionary cycles. They offer reflection & shift points that are more immediately tangible, especially when strengthened by natal planetary placements. When these more personally orientated aspects arrive together, it’s initiation time. Like major life changes, such as starting or leaving school, they herald a new beginning, a graduation from an old way of being. The upcoming Full Moon at 13 Cancer, 10.03GMT on 3rd January, strengthens themes introduced at December’s New Moon (and the upcoming harvest from all we’ve experienced since 2020).
Before exploring the Full Moon energies, I’d like to focus on the Venus Star Point coming up on 6 January at 16 Capricorn. The term ‘Venus Star Point’ refers to Venus’s meeting with the Sun, either close to Earth, or far out in the universe, behind the Sun from Earth perspective. The Star Points are the start of Venus’s new cycle as Evening or Morning Star, relating to a new cycle of creative expression, enjoyment, & connection. They are indicators of our evolution as deep Feminine creative power, personally & collectively.
Astrologer, Adam Gainsburg, describes Venus as our Feminine Dharma – the loving, creative, connective, Feminine power within us that gives rise to purpose, not as a goal driven direction but a powerfully interconnective way of being. It is our Dharma that calls us to transmute our identity and its attachments.
The Venus Star Point on 6 January is unusual & startingly aligned with other astrological trends for the start of 2026. It is an indicator that we are integrating the mature stable foundation required to meet 2026’s heightened fire & air energies from summer onwards without getting blown away or burnt out. We are moving from intensely deconstructive, shedding & resting phases into active soul-orientated innovation both personally & collectively. This supports our conscious engagement of the rapid speed of change from summer onwards.
If we look specifically at the astrological pointers through late 2025 to early spring, it’s clearer to see:
19/20 December 25: Comet 31/ATLAS closest pass to Earth. New Moon at 28 Sagittarius conjunct the Galactic Centre – transmission & alignment with cosmic wisdom.
6 January: Venus & Mars conjunct Sun at 16 Capricorn – a 32-year cycle (the last being January 1994) – the integration of deeply personal elements of the Divine Feminine/Masculine via the Sun (individuality, your inner light).
20 February: Saturn conjunct Neptune at 0 Aries – the union of practicality with vision, response-ability with soul, in a living way of action as individuals. This will move rapidly through the collective.
And this is just the start of what will prove to be an extraordinary year.
As the Venus Star point with Mars occurs in Capricorn, it is in this final Earth sign that stability & integration occurs. Clues as to what aspect of yourself or your life is receiving the strongest input lie in the Capricorn area of your birth chart.

The Full Moon rising just prior to this Venus Star Point with Mars is complimentary to the Star Point energies. It offers the light of awareness through the polarity of Capricorn & Cancer (Sun Capricorn/Moon Cancer at this Full Moon) to both our more active outward energies and our inner self-connection.
It’s an assimilation of opposing yet harmonising rhythms within. As we find the axis of conscious parenting in Capricorn/Cancer – emotional nurture and boundaries, caring through both kindness and tough love – this Full Moon’s focus reveals much about our maturity in how we respond to the complexity of our inner world. For the synergy of Cancer-Capricorn within us indicates emotional intelligence – knowing oneself well, loving oneself and the wisdom of supportive boundaries.
In terms of our humanness & these astrological aspects, we could ask for no finer integration point. It’s the creation of a stable mature foundation within for 2026.
