The upcoming Full Moon at 23 Virgo 06.54GMT on Friday 14th March opens this year’s eclipse season. Eclipses reflect the changing balance of light & dark, past & present, on our planet and within our lives. As this is a Total Lunar Eclipse conjunct the Lunar South Node, focus is on what’s familiar and comfortable yet is past its time. It suggests a natural resolution to what may have been unresolvable so far. It opens a new chapter, perhaps in surprising ways. Its full outcomes stretch beyond the Solar Eclipse on 29th March into late April/early May.
Total eclipses are more intense than partial eclipses. The dance of light & shadow is extreme, and we feel the changing dynamic between Sun & Moon deeply.
The Moon represents our immediate feelings, the Sun our sense of self and way of being. The polarity of watery Pisces & earthy Virgo relates to beingness or doing, letting go or getting involved, flow or activity, trust or worry. Together they relate to a purification process from soul through all our vehicles of humanness, an uplift in the integration of being and doing.
Eclipses tend to activate surprising developments that have been naturally gestating without our conscious awareness. This one brings focus on our relationship to resources, money, possessions, daily habits, thought processes & routines, trust & planning/organising.
We are faced with the ways we lack an integrated balance between being & doing, releasing & resisting, trust & worry, getting over-involved or abdicating response-ability. At this eclipse whatever feels surprising or disruptive, is a positive signal of change in these aspects, although it may not initially feel like it. The dance of light & dark delivers revelation. The key challenge at this time is to allow life to reveal what’s needed in a conscious way, to let the dynamic tension between chaos and harmony reveal something new. The challenge lies in recognizing what needs attention and what you can let go.

– Where are you struggling with a lack of energy? What is past its natural time or usefulness? What needs to be released to open space for presence & natural flow?
– What habits, even those that seem healthy, need to make way for a more relaxed way of being?
– Where are you worrying or obsessing? Where is more trust needed? How might you generate more faith in life’s processes of change and your engagement of them?

Whatever is revealed this week as the Eclipse energies come in, trust that you are undergoing a natural evolution. Eclipse ruler, Mercury, (our thoughts processes, communication & information) is stationing retrograde, along with Venus (our values, resources, creative potential) currently retrograde, so whatever you are feeling about yourself and your life, whatever your plans, it’s time to cultivate patience, courage & a sense of infinite possibility.
Life itself holds the bigger picture. We are being grown in deeper presence with life’s natural processes, encouraged to let go of control. It is our nourishing deep presence of our true self that is calling us ultimately.
