We are always walking the edge between endings & beginnings. It’s the nature of life on Earth that there is a fresh new morning for us to engage every day. Yet we need the foundation of experience to be our grounding; much like trees need their roots in the soil to be stable.
Endings and beginnings are a larger theme we are navigating now both personally and collectively. The last few years have revealed to us the destabilising impact of change beyond our immediate control. At times it seems like everything is falling apart yet there are signs of newness too. We must search for them, yet they will become clearer, especially from Spring to Summer 2025. Right now, we are in composting and preparation mode, much like the earth in autumn & winter.
Eclipse seasons are six-monthly game-changers that build towards the larger cycles of evolution. They point towards the legacy of karma & frequency shifts that we must bridge to live more fully. The eclipses unfold through a pair of opposing signs for eighteen months, then change to another pair. As we come into this next eclipse season (Lunar Eclipse in Pisces 18 September, Solar Eclipse in Libra 2 October) we’re at transition point once again.
The first of these upcoming eclipses sets the scene for the next eighteen months. Bridging the signs of Pisces & Virgo, it calls us to spontaneously respond to the callings of our soul. What does that really mean? Well, recognise what truly fills you, the good natural aspects of being human in a body – music, art, nature, beauty, unconditionally loving connection, spirituality. Where do you lose your self in good ways? What calls forth compassion in you? Where is the Mystery calling you? Where can you let go and allow your self to fall into simply being…
Pisces is the sign of the Mystery, where life dissolves to reappear in new ways & forms in Aries. It’s where we let go, forgive, give over to our higher power. It’s the ocean of consciousness from which we emerge and where we always return, eventually, either willingly or not. It’s where we go with the flow, surrendering to ‘what is’, allowing our old ways of being to dissolve and new ones to simply emerge.
The first of this season’s eclipses occurs at 03.34BST on 18 September at 25 Pisces. It’s ruled by mystic planet Neptune and connected in supportive ways to other planets that rule transpersonal growth. It’s an eclipse that illuminates possibility. It’s subtle yet carries the potential of real grounding. There’s a high frequency embodiment potential that calls us to finer spiritual maturity. We are resourced in seeing beyond the veils. To feel into, acknowledge and honour our Feminine wisdom held in the more mysterious archetypes of witch, priestess, wise woman & crone.
All these evolutionary processes, whatever their frequencies, are calling us to be the living bridge of consciousness and humanness. To be that bridge, we must live well with uncertainty, letting go our futile attempts to manage or control the huge processes that really grow us. Life is always the calling to this state of being.
The deep Feminine, particularly, the Wise Woman archetypes know the potency of ‘hands off’, of liminal space, simply allowing a process. Yet to do this well, to fully engage life & our human frailties whilst awake to the truth of being consciousness is the edge we walk. The ancient Feminine archetypes hold the knowing of what it is to be embodied, honouring the Earth and Her Mystery, rhythms, and cycles. We are being stretched in our capacity to walk the paths of our forgotten & forsaken intelligence whilst also blessed with higher frequencies.
As Elias Lonsdale’s Star Destiny degree for this eclipse states (in part): ‘A transfixing vision of ultimate perfection & wholeness ….What we seek through this focus is our belongingness to the cosmos… Whatever we have held over ourselves and over our world as the way it’s gotta be becomes what must be given over to make the passage to that dream vision real.’
At this first eclipse, our mental abstractions, tendency to worry and micro-manage must fall away into the pure knowing of our Being, being human. This doesn’t mean we don’t act or engage life as it unfolds. It’s to fully know, as we let go of our human agendas, with compassion for our humanness, we are naturally discovering ways to move from a higher frequency of consciousness. Our willingness to trust that is vital. Then we are fully involved in consciously unifying consciousness and our body-mind humanness.
